How ‘Furious 7’ Turned Into A Hollywood Blockbuster - University of Atlanta Explore, Educate & Evolve Campaign

The latest hit from ‘The Fast and the Furious’ movies series ‘Furious 7’ is on its way to set new records. It already has smashed the Box office opening records for the month and ranks as number 9 in the biggest ever openings in the history of the cinemas.

Earlier this week, Furious 7 out passed the analyst predictions of $115 million and earned surprisingly $147.1 million in the U.S. alone which is the highest start for any movie in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise and to date it has earned more than $500 million around the world, all under a week.

Just like the death of Heath Ledger made ‘The Dark night’ into a legacy, the death of famous lead character Paul Walker has played quite a role in the huge success of Furious 7. The audience everywhere is flocking to see Walker in his last role as the actor died in a tragic car crash in November 2013.

Even though the whole part of Paul Walker has been made with the help of digital technology still the movie has gotten outstanding recognition and applause from all around the world. All the cast and crew members genuinely liked each other and they all have been quite emotional about losing one of their team members as this reflected when the second lead in the movie series, Ven Diesel announced to name his newborn baby girl ‘Pauline’ as a tribute to his co-star Walker.

Moreover, the movie is advertised as a tribute to the late star Paul Walker and indeed this is one of the most crucial factors in its worldwide success. Phil Contrino , the Vice president of oldest company in the box office for reporting and analysis of the movies says:

“Walker’s passing made this movie more intriguing for people who hadn’t seen some of the installments. It has raised awareness and its success is a tribute to him.”

All of this combined, made Furious 7 quite a big entry and more than just another movie in the Hollywood list of Blockbusters. It has become a must-see even for the casual fans of this series and the lesson that should be learned from it is that show must always go on.

The University of Atlanta Explore, Educate & Evolve Campaign pays its tribute to the late star Paul Walker and honors his contributions. To learn more about our campaign follow us on Facebook , Google plus , Pinterest and Twitter.
